Unit Fun and Fellowship 25 July 2009

We started off by introducing ourselves, and of cos not forgetting some warmup games beforehand. :D

Yay so this marks the end of our UFF in July! :D Thank God for everyone who participated and also those who didn't attend this (cos leaving early blabla). HEY EVERYONE !!!!! I've got smt very cool to share with u guys !!! haha today we had service at nexus audi, when it was offering time, i took out my wallet to pay retrieve some money to pay my tithing. Sad to say , that was the last time i saw my wallet , i realised tt it was lost when i was about to buy food at meridian. I figured out that i must have dropped it during offering time , i think i din keep it properly so it dropped out. I was very very very and EXTREMELY worried at that point of time as i had lots of impt items in my wallet( shall nt name them ) and it would devastating if i were to lose them. My mood was very bad till the point tt i had no appetite to eat during lunch . First time i rejected food leh !! haha anw after tt we had DMM at SMU ( my future sch (= !! ) and we started by sharing testimony, Lixin shared about her lost file and how she found it and she oso encouraged me so i was realli impacted by her sharing and had a more faith ! But on the while my faith lvl was still pretty low. However , after sharing testimony , we had worship !!! wahhh this was the turning point of muy day ! God realli spoke to me thru the worship reminding me the time he blessed me and reminding me to have faith !!! den my faith lvl shot up like a rocket ! i was realli convicted tt i was able to find my wallet ! Towards the end of DMM everyone also prayed for me to be able to find my wallet ( thx da jia ! ).

So after DMM Ah Yee , Lixin Shi Xin and my boss ( eugene ng ) decided to walk bak to nexus to find my wallet .On my way back Yun Yi oso smsed me a very encouraging msg to pray for my wallet !! So when we reached nexus at about 7 30, we asked the info counter guy whether there is any wallet in the lost and found, but sadly thr wasnt any. But i still blived tt it is still in nexus so we decided to wait till the tertiary svc ended which was about 9 15 , so tt we could go in and find the wallet. so we went to centrepoint and nexus 6th floor to kill time, while we were slacking , i even told the ppl tt if i found my wallet i will treat them anything they want and spend ALL my money inside to celebrate !! But to say the truth during this period of time i was still very very nervous. When it was nearing 9 15, we even did a "woosh" outside to wish our 找wallet大行动 success ! when the door of nexus finally opened , i asked a few of my tertiary frens like yong mei and ting ting whether they found any wallet but they said no. I was abit depressed at tt time , but i was still faith filled so we went in to nexus to find the wallet. We went back to whr we sat and looked ard, at first we couldnt find anything , however, suddenly , i saw Fongyee grinning widely holding a brown thing in her hand !! WAHHHHHH u can nv imagine the look on my face when i realised it was my wallet !!!!!!!!!!!!! wahh i was realli amazed by God and his faithfulnes, my wallet acually survived 3 services , wahhhh if its nt God , den i dunno who else it can be alr !!!!!!!!!!! After tt we realli went to Long Johns and i treated them smt to eat thr, i was grinning like an idiot the whole time and even thiu the fish which i ate was very hard and tasteless, i still thought it was nice LOL !!!!!!!! haha and i realli spent all the money in my wallet. Then after tt we went home by MRT , but the drama was not over , my CEPAS card had oni $2.78 cents and it wasnt enough to take an MRT ride coz adult fare must have at least $3 den can take . But I had no money left !!! LOL !! in the end i still had to borrow money from Fongyee hahah !!! Joke of the day , the week , the month , the century , the millenium !!! LOL !!!

haha all in all , i realli learnt alot from today and this incident in particular. I realised tt i had made realli GREAT friends who would stand by me and encourage me when im scared and oso be with me thru tough times !!! THX EVERYONE !!!! I realli appreciate and treasure all of u =DD . Also i learnt tt we realli need to have faith in God , especially in time like these , when we are uncertain and scared , all the more we must have faith in God and bliv tt he will make a way!! I realli thk God tt i was able to pass this test set by God. I bliv tt thr are many others out thr who maybe facing similar situations as me ( nt exactly the same , but are feeling very uncertain in times of testing ) i realli hope tt u guys can take a leaf out of my book ! hope tt my testimony has inspired u guys to have more faith in God and bliv tt God will surely make a way for u. Lets bliv in God's providence amen ? yea so tts about it , hope u guys enjoyed reading this long , but i tink is very meaningful post =) may God bless u guys !!!!

Lemme tell you about the very coool rvcg this week ! We had a visitor !
Just kidding. Its Evan's uber adorable lights-up-when-you-bounce-it-on-something blue bouncey ball, aka Blueberry ! :D
After a very exciting showdown of Xi3 Niu2 Nai3 in the classroom, (the final fight between Shixin and Yijia is in Shixin's phone) we had a change of venue and we proceeded with a discussion about Outreach !
Both teams brainstormed and shared their opinions and their own understandings of outreach and what methods, attitudes and skills they needed in order to do it well. (:

And then we had a time of prayer for everyone ! So that God would equip us and help us along as we embark on a whole new spirit and journey of outreaching to our friends (:

Caregroup this week was cool for me ! I hope it was for you too. (: And as we work on letting our friends know the love of God lets not forget all that we've promised God and asked for and claim God's blessings yeah ! :D

My mum just asked me to teach her to pray and to pray for her.
She is excited for service and is really relying on God all the time.
She just told me that she prayed for her back pain to be gone.

Hoho ! Time to blog about the awesome awesome unit outing we had on Saturday !
We were waiting for.. I forgot what. So they got bored and started playing Vampire (lol).
Then they got bored some more and L decided to look like a terrorist wannabe.

And then everyone got here ! And off we went to the beach (:

Anyway ! The outing was really fun ! And though there was rain we managed to spend some good time together just chilling and playing. Alot of stuff wasnt caught on camera (cuz the camerawoman was busy playing too yay) like piggybacking people in the water and the adventure we had at Candy Empire after that. It was aweeesome and we're really bummed everyone else couldnt join us D:

BUT, thank God SYF is drawing to an end soon ! :D :D :D And hopefully we'll see alot of people coming back to join us for caregroup and service yay. :D So till then, jiayou everyone ! :D
Okay I'll blog a little about Easter too. :D

Easter service was really moving this year, and especially memorable cuz its a combined service and we had our very first mini-drama (just like your typical Channel 8 serial) all filmed on pro cameras and stuff ! I'm sure everyone who was there with me would agree that the production was awesome. And the sharing by the couple was especially moving as well (okay la I teared a little. I'm sure many others did too !)

Well, ultimately the message of Easter is pretty clear - forgiveness and gratitude. To me, its a day worth celebrating cuz Jesus triumphed over Death and the Devil forevermore. What's more, its a season of forgiveness too, not just for our sins, but it serves as a reminder to us that we should forgive, just as Christ forgave us.

'Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.' - Ephesians 4:32

Lastly, wanna welcome our new sister and brothers who received Christ/rededicated their lives to God ! They are namely Jiamin and Evan from RV, and Chenyen from Nanhua. WHOOPEEDOO ! Waves imaginary welcome banner*

Yun Yi's raceday !!

Today was Yun Yi's national track and field competition, me FongYee and Lixin went to support her at Gombak stadium !! When we were there , the atmosphere of the stadium was really pulsating and if i were a contestant , i would definitely pee on my pants before i even ran !! haha anyway , Yun Yi did a great job running with all her might and her relay team achieved a reasonable result and also achieving their desired timing !! YAY !! congrats !! After her run , we went to eat prata at some indian shop beside the Macs in Gombak , i ordered too much and in the end , we had to play zhong1 ji2 mi4 ma3 to finish it up. And on our way home , we saw a very interesting mirror and thus, we decided to take a picture in it, Lixin finally got her wish of being tall !! even taller than me !!!

Ever wondered why isn't just "Even though I walk through the valley of death.."? I got my answer:)

In the book of 'Travelling light', Mac Lucado explained "Dr.Donald Grey Barnhouse told of the occasion of his first wife's death. He and his children were driving home from the burial, overcome with grief. He searched for a word of comfort to offer but could think of nothing.

Just then, a large moving van drove by. As it passed, the shadow of the truck swept over the car. An inspiration came to Dr.Barnhouse.

He turned to his family and asked, "Children, would you rather be run over by a truck or by its shadow?"

The children said, "Well ofcourse, dad. We'd rather be run over by the shadow. That wouldn't hurt.".

Dr.Barnhouse explained "Did you know that 2000 years ago, the truck of death ran over the Lord Jesus, in order that only its shadow might run over us?"

UFF is basically a time whereby the whole unit would gather together and fellowship and have fun together by playing some interesting and meaningful games and also eating together! yea so this time , it was the beautiful and handsome CLs (Kenny aka Jethro & Fongyee aka Estella) who planned it haha , we decided to use bananas as theme and thought of 2 very hmmm , interesting , fun, exciting and somewhat disgusting games !! haha look at the vid!!

After that the the four of us, (Lixin, Kenny, Fongyee and Yunyi) went out to fellowship as the rest went home. We took train from Dhoby to Somerset and walk to cineleisure. After window-shopping for around half an hour or so, we walked all the way to Plaza Singapura then to Dhoby exchange after deciding on where to eat. Fongyee left as she had to meet her friends so the three of us really had a good time fellowshipping at JustAcia! :D

PS/ There's free flow of icecream and softdrinks for set meals!!!

Apparently Kenny loves acting retarded. But nevertheless, this fellowship is definitely enjoyable (:

The Dart Test.

A young lady named Sally, relates an experience she had in a seminary class, given by her teacher, Dr. Smith . She says that Dr. Smith was known for his elaborate object lessons.

One particular day, Sally walked into the seminary and knew they were in for a fun day.

On the wall was a big target and on a nearby table were many darts. Dr. Smith told the students to draw a picture of someone that they disliked or someone who had made them angry, and he would allow them to throw darts at the person's picture.

Sally's friend drew a picture of who had stolen her boyfriend. Another friend drew a picture of his little brother. Sally drew a picture of a former friend, putting a great deal of detail into her drawing, even drawing pimples on the face. Sally was pleased with the overall ef fect she had achieved.

The class lined up and began throwing darts. Some of the students threw their darts with such force that their targets were ripping apart. Sally looked forward to her turn, and was filled with disappointment when Dr. Smith, because of time limits, asked the students to return to their seats. As Sally sat thinking about how angry she was because she didn't have a chance to throw any darts at her target. Dr. Smith began removing the target from the wall.

Underneath the target was a picture of Jesus. A hush fell over the room as each student viewed the mangled picture of Jesus; holes and jagged marks covered His face and His eyes were pierced.

Dr. Smith said only these words,
'In as much as ye have done it unto the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto Me.'
Matthew 25:40.

No other words were necessary; the tears filled eyes of the students focused only on the picture of Christ.

Wow this is my first time posting something on a blog !! haha anw, these pics were taken when i was practicing worship with lixin at school.After all the practicing i really think tt she is pretty ready to lead this impt role during CG !! yay!!! So Lixin, JiaYou leading worship for cg this time round , i bliv tt u will do a great job =D ( but u still need to abit more on ur confidence ). Yeah most impt thing is tt u do ur best and God will do the rest, he wont let ur hard work go to waste. 加油

HELLO !
As blog administrator I have the undisputed privilege of posting first. FWAHA.

The 3 of us visited the schools in the morning for prayer meet and met at Habourfront for a yummy yummy breakfast !

It was really time well spent though all of us had to drag ourselves out of bed at hours in the morning which we were not used to anymore. Had a really good time at prayer meet, though it was only a short while. Its just great to see everyone being so enthused to pray and just spend time together early in the morning.

Monday PM was fun ! :D Looking forward to more, heh.

PS: I know this box doesnt scrollllll but I'm cranky and tired. Do it up another day kay !
